Choosing the edge color for your canvas
Border Edge Color Dorothy recommends Light Gray edge like her original oil paintings for a clean contemporary style.
Mirror Image Edge Wrap the colors of the artwork around the edge of the stretcher. This does not mean part of your painting is lost, rather a continuation of the painting is created with a mirror of the colors in the painting.
Float Frames Dorothy recommends contemporary Float Frames that appear to 'float' around the artwork. A narrow space between the canvas and the frame creates a stylish shadow. The edge of the canvas shows only slightly in the narrow space between the frame. Dorothy recommends a neutral gray tone on the edge of her paintings for this shadow space to create light around the art.
