Muses of Tuscany 2015 - 2018

In Italy I sought to let the Italian lifestyle seep into my palette and my life. Living in the hilltop village of Poggio Alla Croce for two months in 2015, and again in 2017 was a dream come true. The following year I visited my dear friend Antonella for a girls week in Sorrento.

Throughout, I painted plein air in watercolor. These works serve as inspiration for larger works painted at home in Virginia. Beyond the literal imagery,absorbing the essence of Tuscany and its beautiful people continues to transform my art and artistry. I feel they patiently awaited my season of perfection, ripe like an olive at the end of October, needing only a gentle shake to drop off my tree.
