BOOK 5 Walk with Dad
In the early 80s Dorothy painted a pastel inspired by a walk with her father on the woodland trail behind their home. Throughout life they walked together at every opportunity on beaches from Cape Cod to Florida. He encouraged her painting in every conversation. And she comforted him during her mother's long illness.
When he moved into nursing care, Dorothy created a Twin Souls healing quilt based on a painting of two oak trees outside her studio to hang over his bed. The oak's brilliant colors and entwined branches, she explained, represented their relationship. While he laid in hospice care, Dorothy was surprised to meet him in the field as she painted en plein air. Deciphering his messages in the paintings and dreams as he crossed over, Dorothy delivered his uplifting messages of hope and peace to his wife, children, and grandchildren.
