Archives > Flowers at the Window

After her father had crossed over, Dorothy sought new direction for her painting in France. Two years later in Venice, her interest and exploration of the relationship between divine and human expanded with further exploration of the juxtaposition of man made structures and organic form.

She explores ideas without words with colors and shapes in an ongoing series of backyard gardens, balconies, and window gardens. Drawing  with willow charcoal and painting oil paint in a fusion of media unleashed her high-spirited calligraphic drawing.

Window symbolizes an opening, open or closed heart. Blooming outside, or within?
