Four Women Inspire Butterfly Release

Alternating Flashes of light and darkness ~ caused my faith muscle to flex in strange new ways ~ 

Pauline   This past spring a new painting, Blossom Joy called me to begin with the same vibrant coral paint. But when blossom fabric I'd painted a decade ago jumped into the mix, I prayed that adding collage wouldn't turn it into a UFO! Mom quickly answered with advice from my dreams. She'd passed away 35 years ago and had remained silent, so I understood just how deeply this painting was reaching through the veil.

Barbara   Visiting Selby Gardens with my dear friend who I hadn't seen in six years since she moved away, a small Tiffany mosaic stopped me in my tracks to play with iridescent colors. Yearning for the look, I affixed copper snips into my paint. Then more and more and more ~ until I was sure I'd gone too far!

Lilah   I grabbed the translucent greenish white left over on my palette ~ and slashed open the darkest shadows. Immediately flashing to mind, milky chambers separating micro-climates the frosty day my granddaughter (who is an artist herself) and I entered them together at the National Arboretum. I remember peering through gauzy words fingered on foggy glass. Curiosity peaked my heart.

Izzy   From my phone a message from Izzy, Glamour UK blipped in, 'would love to feature your new collection in our Gifting Gallery this fall?' "What new collection?" Diva emerged briefly ~ handed me pages of haiku and hand painted silks scrawled in my journal thirty years ago ~ then disappeared, leaving me with the mission of designing it for her!
