ORIGINAL OIL PAINTING 

Oil, oil paint stick and willow charcoal on gallery wrap canvas, edges painted neutral gray. Wired to hang unframed.

Very heavily textured, this oil painting began with thin washes of vibrant coral, layered and fiber collage. The linen collage was something I'd painted years ago. During the process, Mom reached out into my dreams, and I've interwoven her with hopes and prayers. Wondering if I could ever 'finish' Diva, I let her rest off and on throughout the hot summer. 

Coming out of the pandemic, the irridescence of a small Tiffany mosaic caught my eye. As I moved my head above and below, I felt mesmerized by colors transforming. I tried to capture this effect.    ~Many blessings, Dorothy
